APPLE DEVELOPER APP INCLUDES MAC SUPPORT, NEW FEATURES, AND iMESSAGE STICKERS AHEAD OF THE COMPANY’S WWDC

A new version of the Apple Developer App has just been launched by the tech and iOS giant – Apple, which comes ahead of the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference, scheduled to start next week. The latest version of its Apple Developer App has been designed to better support its virtual event plans. Adding that, the app has been enabled for Mac for the first time coupled with the redesign and few updates.
While announcing the launch, the company made it clear that it has redesigned the app’s Discover section in a bid to ease up things for developers in order to brace up on the latest stories, videos, news, and more, keeping in mind an entirely virtual audience. Adding that this section will frequently be updated with “actionable” content, the company noted, which will also include the latest news, recommendations on implementing new features, and not excluding information concerning inspiring engineers and designers, alongside new videos.
Equally, the redesign which has added a process for desired individual articles, including the session content and videos is also part of the new feature, while in addition, new iMessage stickers in addition to other enhancements and bug fixes have also been included. Based on this, Mac has received the app that was previously accessible on iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV.
Consequently, the company has also updated its Browse tab, an area where users search for existing videos, sessions, articles and news, which also has in store over 100 technical and design-focused videos that are obtainable in the Worldwide Developer Conference tab, and emerging from the new Apple Developer app.

The iOS giant while responding to the latest app update said: “Over the last 30 years, developers around the world have been creating amazing apps that entertain, influence culture and change lives. The Apple Developer app helps everyone stay current and learn about the newest technologies and techniques to make their apps even better”.
In a bid to help connect developers in growing international markets like Brazil, Canada, India, and Indonesia other than the U.S. to Apple’s resources, the company did explain last year while introducing its Apple Developer app that the app is designed to make things easier for Apple’s third-party developer community to access vital resources, such as developer news, design articles, videos and more other than just its WWDC-related content.

Apple has also seen the importance of its Developer app, considering the impact of the current pandemic. Just last week, the company highlighted the Worldwide Developer Conference agenda, which includes an updated version of its Apple Developer forums and the virtual version of its labs, in addition to the company’s Special Event and Platforms State of the Union keynotes.

In another dimension, Apple stated that its app store facilitated $519 billion in commerce precisely for the year 2019. A study that was conducted by economists at the Analysis Group, known as the first to attempt a comprehensive analysis of the App Store ecosystem, which now houses about 2 million apps. However, this study is focused on pre-coronavirus-era data from 2019, which comes amid antitrust scrutiny by the U.S regulator. The new studies precisely examine the wider world of transactions via the App Store.
