APPLE DISABLES WALKIE TALKIE App BASED ON VULNERABILITY THAT COULD BRIDGE iPhone-TO-

U.S. Tech giant Apple disables Walkie Talkie App as a result of unidentified vulnerability, on a dangerous note could allow an individual to listen to another iPhone customer with his or her consent. Prior to this development, Apple, however, did apologize for such disruption and inconveniences it will cost users, and their inability to use the features while the problems are been resolved.
Speaking of the news (Apple disables Walkie Talkie Apple), that was reported in the evening, it is understood the source of this is as a result of the Walkie Talkie App on Apple Watch, enables two different users that have accepted each others’ invite to receive audio chats through a ‘push to talk’ platform reminiscent of its PTT buttons on older mobile phones.
Based on reports, Apple
“We were just made aware of a vulnerability related to the Walkie-Talkie app on the Apple Watch and have disabled the function as we quickly fix the issue. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and will restore the functionality as soon as possible. Although we are not aware of any use of the vulnerability against a customer and specific conditions and sequences of events are required to exploit it, we take the security and privacy of our customers extremely seriously. We concluded that disabling the App was the right course of action as this bug could allow someone to listen through another customers’ iPhone without consent. We apologize again for this issue and the inconvenience”.

We must understand that the company is currently disabling this feature entirely until the problem is fixed, and then it will be rolled out to those devices. This App, otherwise known as Walkie Talkie App, and as we know will remain on those devices, but will not function, pending when it has been updated with the problem resolved.
Earlier this year 2019, a bug was figured out in the group calling features of FaceTime that enables people to listen in before accepting a call. It happened that the founders of the bug ‘Thompson and Grant’ had tried to contact Apple based on this issue, but could not get any response. In the process, Apple fix bug and rewarded Thomson. But now, the tech giant (Apple) seems to be paying close attention to reports that come from its vulnerability tips line.
In another development, Apple has pushed a Mac update in order to remove a feature of the zoon conference App which allowed it to work around Mac restrictions to provide a smoother call initiation experience, equally allows website and emails to add a user to an active video call without their consent.
