Swedish and Stockholm-based startup ‘Lace Laboratory’ identified as a company that makes high-quality lace knickers for home delivery just announced today that it has scored €1.8 million in its latest funding round.
While the company remains poised to enter major markets, it will be fair to note that the latest funding round includes the following investors Jacob de Geer, Swedish entrepreneur and investor, Susanna Campbell, founder of iZettle Cristina Stenbeck, investor and Director of the Board at Kinnevik, and Âsa Orbison, Los Angeles-based angel investor and marketeer. Bringing the company’s total funds to €2.5 million.
Meanwhile, it’s understood the latest fundraised will be used to accelerate the company’s global expansion, having made the UK most recent market entry, product development, as well as team growth.
The subject startup was founded in 2018 by ‘Felicia Lönnqvist’ and ‘Faye Flensburg’. Both of whom have since then spearheaded the company’s D2C-model which has enabled its rapid expansion while commanding more than 100,000 orders placed by customers in 39 markets across Europe. It’s also clear to note that the key to Lace Laboratory scores and success has been its community-driven product development, where thousands of women are opportune to have their say on the brand’s fits and colors, EU Startups have learned. However, until now, the startup has been identified as an entity that sells a style, but that’s seeing a different dimension as observed in the autumn of 2021, hence, expanding its range with more styles that are carefully designed in collaboration with the company’s customers.
“We are so proud to have the continued backing of our existing shareholders and to now welcome new investors on board. They all possess invaluable expertise and experience, and we know that this will help take Lace Laboratory to the next level. Our customers and community have been at the very core of shaping our offering and Felicia and I are really excited to now bring them along on this stage of our journey, together with our shareholders and brilliant team”, the company’s CEO and co-founder ‘Faye Flensburg’ said – per EU Startups.
In view of this, one of the investors ‘Jacob de Geer’ stated: “Retail is currently being disrupted and incumbents are desperately trying to adapt to a new reality but with limited success. Lace Laboratory is a highly niched female-founded company and one of the few that’s cracked the code and truly understands the future of retail”.
Moreover, the company believed to focus on products made to deliver maximum comfort, durability, and breathability while offering the most flattering fit regardless of the wearer’s body shape. It should be known that the company uses three types of lace developed by its partner in Turkey exclusively for its products which is expandable by up to 150% around the hips is also key to the comfort and fit of its knickers.
