As trade broadens, the need for warehouse logistics becomes critical as part of keeping the global supply chain on the move. However, as sectors digitize notably with the e-commerce boom, warehouses have come under increased pressure to keep up with demand and operate efficiently. To achieve this, startup BotsAndUs have secured fresh fund in a round led by Lakestar to help shape this space.

Founded a couple of years ago, in 2015 to be precise, the subject startup pioneering warehouse data intelligence system captures real-time insight with the aid of fully-enabled-autonomous, mobile robots and AI as it aids companies to drive better business decisions. This is because the rapid increase in demand for near-instantaneous storage, dispatch, and delivery of goods is resulting in enormous time and cost for companies, as a result, they are expected to rethink and enhance their logistics and storage operations.

It’s worth noting that the company’s autonomous AI-powered robots have proven to be able to quickly process pallets at every stage and throughout the warehouse logistics operation. However, the idea behind this innovation was actually triggered by the arrival of trucks, in which the robots capture the volume and condition of goods to ascertain their state as they enter the warehouse, and, in turn, run the check as goods exit the warehouse. Further on this, the subject robots also scan the goods on shelves and record their location and quantity.

Prior to this development, Logistics Management data has it that, at least 69% of companies are currently looking to improve their inventory control, as a more specific action aimed at lowering cost.

These mobile robots are an innovation that blends a fleet of state-of-the-art autonomous machines, packed with unique navigation, vision systems, and AI. This implies that these machines can operate in the warehouse without human intervention while digitizing the warehouse without needing to make additional investments in the existing infrastructure. To ascertain the effectiveness of these robots, startup BotsAndUs stressed that its robots are designed to save time and protect revenues by eliminating manual dimensioning and stock checking while allowing managers to have full and real-time visibility of their operations from the comfort of their desks.

In order to offer more insight, the co-founder and CEO, ‘Andrei Danescu’, explained: “BotsAndUs is already paving the way for artificial intelligence and robotics to completely transform logistics, and this new financing only reaffirms our vision. It’s increasingly exciting to know that our integrated AI and robotics platform is helping companies boost their performance and unlock their full potential. By providing state-of-the-art autonomous robotics and a proprietary AI platform, we’re confident we can make our vision a reality: transforming logistics on a global scale with real-time data to eliminate errors and enhance performance across all steps”.

Currently, the UK-based startup is already trusted by a number of reputable clients representing core industries that include Huboo, Menzies Aviation, and Maersk. This is significant for the company as it aims to become the go-to robotics provider for supply chains across virtually all industries, envisioning that its platform will help warehouse managers around the world.

‘Lakester’ Partner Christoph Schuh, commented: “More than 80% of warehouses have no automation at all. With warehouses expected to grow by 50% by 2025 and labour shortages of over 30%, automation clearly holds the key to ensuring logistics operations are as optimized as possible. BotAndUs is unique in providing robots that capture real-time data, allowing warehouse operators to carry out their duties with little hindrance. We’re delighted to join the stellar team on their journey to transform logistics and enable companies to perform at their best”

Furthermore, BotsAndUs plan to put the new investment into use by expanding its robotics solution on a global scale, with emphasis on industrial leaders to accelerate growth. Markets target includes France, Germany, Canada, Nordics, and the U.S., equally, it plans to expand and grow its pool of tech team with the intent to increase its team to over 50 by the year-end.

‘Oliver Finch’, Investment Partner Maersk Growth, added: “We are delighted to back such a talented and inspiring team. BotsAndUs are tackling big opportunities in global logistics. Most warehouses have limited or no automation and could benefit significantly from exploring this space. Many firms currently stretch the capacity of people and process in response to business challenges. BotsAndUs provides an easy on-ramp for warehouses to explore autonomous, enrich data and enable intelligent optimization to utilize untapped capabilities from existing assets and teams”.
