SaaS STARTUP Lumiform SNAPS UP €6.4 MILLION FUNDING BOOST TO ENHANCE THE DESKLESS WORKFORCE

Looking at the subject workforce from the traditional perspective, it should be known that deskless workers are those who are on ‘the front line’ of society, creating, selling, and delivering products, services, and activities that cut across sectors like health, education, hospitality, transportation and so on. While accounting for 80% of the total workforce, startup Lumiform is helping businesses navigate this space.
As sectors like the aforementioned struggle to ensure that the tasks of the subject workforce are simplified, the need to digitize becomes the case. As a result, the Berlin-based Lumiform is poised to develop a mobile and desktop app that aims to address their concerns. The platform digitizes and automates the workflows of deskless teams across the globe for all kinds of sectors and industries.
In view of this, the startup has announced the close of its Series A funding at €6.4 million. The round was led by Capnamic in addition to 42CAP which led the Seed round, EquityPitcher Ventures, Exxeta AG, and Westtech Ventures coupled with well-known Business Angles like Christoph Gerber, Kai Hansen – founders of Lieferando, Christian Henschel, Paul Müller – founders of Adjust, Christophe Folschette, Thibaut Britz – founders of Talkwalker, and Stefan Tietze – founder of gebraucht.de
Founded in 2019 by brothers ‘Lukas Roelen-Blasberg’ and ‘Philip Roelen-Blasberg’, the startup’s product is an easy-to-use SaaS solution designed to help organizations digitize and automate the workflows of their deskless workforce. This implies that teams of all sizes, working in all sorts of locations, can effectively work together and spend less time on antiquated traditional approach that is proven to be a burdensome process.
Bearing in mind the primary function of deskless workforce, it’s therefore, necessary for the operations to run at a high standard, mainly to be efficient in order to keep society ticking forward. However, since efforts have been made to digitize this space, the need for antiquated and burdensome paper-based processes will fizzle out. With startup Lumiform, everything regarding workflows will be smoother and simpler including vital processes like occupational safety checks at construction sites, vehicle inspections in logistics companies, or hygiene documentation in restaurants.
‘Lukas Blasberg’, co-founder and co-CEO, made clear: “Most software is developed thinking about the desktop worker, even though 80% of all employees worldwide are deskless workers, who still need to heavily rely on pen and paper due to the lack of specific technology or application that suits their needs. These analog processes are time-consuming and error-prone, resulting in high costs as well as quality losses, operational mistakes, etc. with Lumiform, we are making it easy for deskless teams to switch to a digital solution that gives them real-time insights from the field to make efficient data-driven decisions”.
To navigate through this, users will be able to create custom forms with a flexible form builder or kickstart digitization efforts by using over 12,000 ready-made templates that are available for free. Teams can then fill out the digital forms – offline or online – via the mobile app or desktop (based on convenience). Should there be issues, corrective measures are automatically or manually assigned to the person responsible, which is, in turn, monitored and solved by teams 4 times faster.
Responding to this development, the Managing Partner at Capnamic ‘Olaf Jacobi’, said: “The largest contributor and backbone of the world economy is the deskless worker, yet to date, this group has remained largely untouched by the recent waves of digitalization. Lumiform provides an easy-to-use, yet a smart solution, that can be adopted in various industries and at companies of all sizes, digitalizing mundane data capturing tasks like inspections and audits, making them trackable whilst providing a simple task distribution and management system. In the future, we see Lumiform increasing its value proposition and product layer toward an operating system to become a major driver of innovation and digitalization”.
